I thought you all would enjoy my friend, Amanda’s blog! So I’ve asked her a few questions about her blog and her Love yourself campaign that she has been working on! I hope you all enjoy!
Amanda Sette is a Junior at UNH going for a marketing degree. She is suppose to be graduating in January 2017. She is a member of Phi Sigma Sigma and the Photography Club. She is enthusiastic and outgoing and an inspiration to the people around her.
What made you want to start blogging?
I wanted an outlet to organize my thoughts, ideas, and anything else I feel like sharing with the world!
What is your mission?
I want to inspire people to love themselves; to be healthy and happy in their own skin and truly feel motivated to better themselves inside and out. I want to help people.
What/ who are your inspirations?
Niykee Heaton has probably been my biggest inspiration. She’s taught me to love myself and radiate that everyday. She’s instilled confidence and bravery in me, things I’ve always struggled with. Not to mention she has a fabulous body which keeps me motivated to workout and keep up with a healthy lifestyle.
Who is your audience and how do you relate to them?
I would say my audience is mostly female based or anyone who needs some inspiration and motivation.
What is your favorite thing to post about?I love posting new healthy recipes and anything fitness related. It helps others and also keeps me motivated.
See the healthy hot cocoa recipe she gave me (here)
I hope to reach and help as many people as I possibly can, so seeing it become popular would be amazing.
Now Amanda has also been working on a campaign on Instagram and facebook!
Why did you start the Love Yourself Campaign?
So many people these days, both male and female, struggle with body image and confidence issues. I myself have battled with them. But thanks to my girl Niykee and some self motivating, I’ve lifted myself from those things and I’ve become extremely confident and body positive. Some see that as a problem; being “too sexual” or showing “too much.” So with this campaign, I want to not only help people regain their confidence, but to fight the sexualization of the female body.
What is your mission with the Love Yourself Campaign?
To instill confidence and body positivity in as many people as I can and fight the over sexualization of the female body.
How has body image affected you?
For the longest time I hated myself. Every look in the mirror was a reminder of what I hated about myself. It caused me to develop anxiety and to self harm. It was a rough time.
What are the future plans for your campaign?
I want this to grow as much as possible. The more people I inspire, the better. No one should hate themselves and feel as if they aren’t good enough. We’re all good enough.
How to get involved?
Visit the Instagram page @love.yourself.campaign and send a DM with a photo and a little blurb as to why loving yourself is so important! I post all submissions.
Don’t forget to follow her blog also!
